BaySac Golf Club Constitution and By-Laws

ARTICLE I - NAME

The name of this golf club shall be BaySac Golf Club.

ARTICLE II - PURPOSE

1. To stimulate interest in golf among golf enthusiasts.

2. To promote camaraderie and mutual benefit among members while upholding the traditions of the game.

3. To encourage adherence to USGA Rules of Golf.

4. To maintain and manage handicaps per NCGA/USGA standards.

5. To organize and govern club competitions.

ARTICLE III - MEMBERSHIP

1. Membership is open to both men and women aged 18 and older.

2. Memberships are individual and non-transferable.

3. Members must regularly play golf and submit scores for handicapping.

4. Memberships expire annually on December 31.

5. Membership fees are due by January 15 each year.

6. Each candidate for membership must be proposed and seconded by two active members in good standing. The Board of Directors shall act upon each proposal by vote, with five negative votes disqualifying any candidate.

7. In the event that any member commits an act reflecting discredit or disrepute on the club, or refuses to comply with the rules and regulations, they may be suspended or expelled after ten days' written notice and the right to be heard. A two-thirds vote of the Board of Directors is required.

8. The Board of Directors shall review all membership applications, including reactivation applications, and approve as deemed advisable. Once dues are paid, the new member may participate in all Club events.

9. To be included in the championship standings at the end of the year, all tournament championship dues (separate from club dues) must be paid in full prior to the first tournament of the season.

ARTICLE IV - TOURNAMENTS

1. All tournament money is due no later than two weeks prior to the tournament date.

ARTICLE V - MEETINGS

1. The annual meeting of the BaySac Golf Club shall be held on the third Wednesday in October.

2. The Board of Directors may schedule additional meetings as necessary and call special meetings upon a written petition signed by at least 10% of the membership.

3. A quorum for meetings is 10 members.

ARTICLE VI - BOARD OF DIRECTORS

1. The Board of Directors consists of four members: President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Handicap Chair.

2. The Board manages the club and appoints committees as necessary.

3. Vacancies on the Board are filled by majority vote for the remainder of the term.

4. The Board shall have the power to review and amend policies and bylaws, subject to member approval at a general meeting.

5. The Board will initially have no formal term limits, and this policy will be revisited two years after the club's start-up.

ARTICLE VII - AMENDMENTS TO BY-LAWS

1. The Board of Directors may propose amendments, which must be approved by a majority vote of the members of the BaySac Golf Club at a meeting held in accordance with these bylaws.
